I'm Maggy.

Born and raised in Malaysia, Maggy is a radio presenter and television host known for her fun and bubbly personality. Apart from being one of the most sought after host and emcee in the entertainment industry, Maggy is also a NASM Certified Fitness Coach and with her passion for fitness, she co-founded Move With Maggy with her partner, Joseph Lee in late 2017.

Here’s her story on how it all started:

I started #MoveWithMaggy back in 2014 as a fitness journal for myself. It was a time when I was really struggling with some massive weight gain.

From being 56kgs, I was at 75 kgs. It was a big change for myself and it robbed my self-esteem, completely. I went through a period of depression because in my line of work, I needed to put my best self forward and I couldn’t do any of that. I was faced with rejections after rejections, my confidence level was running empty.

I became desperate to find a way out. In my mind, I thought the only way to feel confident again was to lose the extra pounds and look ‘skinny’ again. I’ve tried all kinds of fad diets from juice cleanses, no-carbs diet, GM diet, you name it. I remember at one point, I even had thoughts of going through liposuction.

Come think to it, desperation really knows no boundaries. Later on, I had to be hospitalised due to an allergic reaction after consuming fat burning pills. That was my biggest wake up call.

I made my body go through all those painful and unnecessary experiences, all in the name of vanity. My story is only one out of the millions of what women go through in their lives.

Today, I’ve never been happier with myself and the way I am.

Over the years, I’ve come to learn that looking aesthetically pleasing isn’t all there is to fitness. What’s more important is HOW you feel on the inside and WHAT you do for your body. I remember someone once told me, “small hinges swing big doors”. All it took was a change of habit and lifestyle.

Fast forward today, #MoveWithMaggy is no longer a hashtag, but a community and movement to encourage YOU to live a better, healthier and more active lifestyle.


Maggy has been featured in multiple magazines and newspapers such as Citta Bella, FEMALE, CLEO, Women’s Health Malaysia, Women’s Weekly Malaysia, Berita Harian and The Sun. When she’s not talking on the radio or appearing on your television screen, you can expect her to be working out at the gym, conducting workout sessions or churning out new moves on @movewithmaggy where she and her team encourages, motivates and empowers people to just get moving!
